Victoria Mukhonko was born in 1990 in Rostov on Don, Russia. In 2017 she graduated from Mordovia Humanitarian Institute in Saransk. In 2019 she finished Contemporary Art course of British Higher School of Art&Design. In 2022 she finished New Art strategies course in Bakhstein Institute of Contemporary Art.

Victoria explores the dichotomy of human nature, how beauty and ugliness, memory and oblivion, love and hate can simultaneously coexist in a human being. This paradox is the main theme of the artist’s work.

Victoria considers her art to be a kind of diary of her life, it is constantly changing and developing together with the author. Victoria’s works and projects are very personal and are based on the artist’s own experience.
Also, one of the central problems in the artist’s practice is the difficulty of communication with the outside world. Her projects are her main way of connecting with others.

Victoria works in various media: video art, installation and performance. Her trademark is works that combine organic materials, such as skeletons and stuffed animals, prepared for projects with ethics and humanity, and synthetic compounds such as artificially grown crystals.
